The House of Switzerland is back in Rio de Janeiro to celebrate sport from 1 August to 18 September! Following the great success of the popular Baixo Suiça meeting place during the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil, Switzerland's hospitality zone has reinvented itself for this year's Olympics. The 4,100 m² space features three houses and an outdoor park located on the edge of the popular Lagoa in the centre of Rio, 15 minutes' walk from Copacabana and Ipanema beaches.
It opened on 1 August, ahead of the start of the games, and is also open during the Paralympics. The Swiss meeting place welcomes visitors, athletes and their fans from around the world to watch the Games live on a giant screen and of course celebrate the Swiss medallists! As one of the few national hospitality houses open to the public it provides a pleasant and surprising encounter with a multifaceted Switzerland.
